How to play

One player holds the box (this screen). Everyone else is an expert with the manual at tickbox.santrancisco.net/manual, on their own phone or printed out. The defuser can't see the manual; the experts can't see the box. Talk!

• Turn the box by dragging, or with the ◀ ▶ ▲ ▼ buttons (arrow keys). It snaps to the nearest face.
• Tap a module to zoom in and work on it; tap outside or ↩ to step back.
• The lid has the timer, the strikes and the serial number. The maker's plate underneath lists batteries, lamps and ports. Many rules need them.
• Solve every module (its light turns green) to open the box. Mistakes give strikes and make the clock run faster; too many and… boom.
• Needy modules (with a red countdown) can't be solved; just keep them happy until the box is open.
• The manual has editions: the tables change with the number. The box shows its edition on the lid; the experts must use the same one.
